Recycling Textile Waste

James Robinson Fibres Ltd are one of the largest collectors, sorters and graders of textile hosiery waste in the United Kingdom. Our textile recycling department diverts significant volumes of textile waste from landfill by converting the waste into re-usable textile raw material.

We offer a national collection service and are receivers of most post industrial Textile wastes. The list below represents the wide range of materials that we receive and recycle or supply onwards for recycling.

Knitting Wastes:

Post consumer 'rags' not cleaned or deemed suitable for re-use as clothing, but suitable for exporting for recycling.

Textile Waste Exports

We have a fully trained and dedicated team of sorters and graders situated in our large warehouse in Bradford to prepare the wastes to our customers individual requirements.

Where possible all our finished products are packed in high density bales, wrapped and banded with wire bands ready for shipping overseas. The high density presses that we utilize enable us to load between 10 – 16 tonnes in a twenty foot container and 20 – 25 tonnes in forty feet containers dependent on quality and type of product.

Processing facility

JR Fibres have a fully equipped recycling plant onsite at our head office in Bradford, which allows us to process various post industrial and post consumer textile wastes back to their fibrous state, which in turn this raw material can be used again for nonwovens, needle punch and various types of felts, including carpet underlay produced by our sister company TEXFELT. The types of textile wastes that we process and recycle include:
